Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) announces that Maysill Pascal, P.E., senior regional engineer/sales manager for USW, a Menard Group USA Company, is the new chair of the DFI Women in Deep Foundations Committee. She succeeds Helen Robinson, P.E., senior project manager, GEI Consultants. The Women in Deep Foundations Committee is a group of women and men who are advocates for retaining women in the deep foundations industry. The goal is to foster greater success and interest of professional women in the industry by promoting networking events, endorsing outreach and building mentoring relationships.
Prior to joining Menard in 2015, Pascal had over 13 years of geotechnical consulting experience on projects across the United States as well as Canada, Australia and the Caribbean. She started her career working with Mueser Rutledge Consulting Engineers in the New York metropolitan area before moving to Haley and Aldrich in New Jersey and then to Golder Associates, where she worked in several offices including New Jersey, Atlanta, Melbourne (AUS) and Houston. Pascal is a licensed engineer in 10 states. She graduated from Manhattan College with a B.S. in civil engineering and from Virginia Tech, with an M.S. in geotechnical engineering.
Pascal is passionate about increasing the number of women in STEM fields, and has been involved in DFI’s Women in Deep Foundation Committee from its inception. Additionally, she has taken part in activities such as Future City, Math Counts, volunteering with Golder Trust and tutoring refugee students. She is a director of The Grace Foundation established to give back to preschool-aged children, and is a member of the Charles Via Jr. Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni board at Virginia Tech.
