New Leadership Announced for DFI of India

DFI of India announces the appointment of a new chair and new vice chair. 

I.V. Anirudhan has been named director, chair of the regional chapter after serving as vice chair. He succeeds Dr. K.S. Rama Krishna, who founded DFI of India and served as chair for more than 7 years. Rama Krishna is continuing to serve as an advisor and a member of the Executive Committee. In addition, Mohan Ramanathan has been named as director, vice chair of DFI of India. 

Anirudhan manages Geotechnical Solutions in Chennai, a geotechnical investigation and consultancy firm that conducts small and medium geotechnical investigation works in Tamilnadu and parts of South India. During his long professional career, he worked as a foundation design and quality control engineer on industrial projects using several deep foundation techniques. Anirudhan is closely associated with the activities of the Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) and was the secretary and chairman of the Chennai chapter of IGS. He earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Calicut University, Kerala, and his master’s degree in geotechnique from IIT Kanpur. 

Ramanathan is the founder/director of the ACT Group of Companies based in Chennai. He has over 40 years of experience in pile foundations, heavy earthmoving equipment, demolition and concrete flooring. He has been actively involved in identifying and transferring technologies relating to construction, ground engineering and mechanisation to India from developed countries. He is a member of several professional societies including DFII, IGS, Institution of Engineers (India), ACCE, ICI and IDA. As an active member in the DFII Executive Committee and vice chair, he is spearheading the new initiative in the introduction of Helical Screw Piles in India. Ramanathan has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from IIT, Madras and a master’s degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the U.S.
